The site is in English and Czech, the downloads in 48 languages
The page itself is now written in English and Czech only. The audio teaser, the pamphlet and the whitepaper can be switched to any of the 48 languages with one selector above the player. The selector starts on the language your browser asks for, and you can share a link to a chosen language.
Translations other than English and Czech are machine-generated and the selector says so. The originals are in English and Czech. The author's drawn portrait at the bottom of the page was replaced by a photograph.
The Czech landing page opens with the campaign film
While the crowdfunding campaign for the Czech print edition runs on Startovač, the Czech landing page opens with the campaign film instead of the pamphlet cover. The thumbnail is a plain link to YouTube that opens in a new tab, so nothing from YouTube is loaded on this site unless you click it.
The other languages keep the pamphlet cover.
One pamphlet cover per language, on the site and in the files
The cover images on the site and the covers of the downloadable pamphlets (PDF and EPUB) now come from the same source. The translated note on the cover takes its colour from the artwork instead of sitting on a dark box, so it reads as part of the picture. The English edition keeps its own wording of the note.
All 48 editions were re-typeset from sources kept in the public repository. The text of the pamphlet is unchanged.
Whitepaper updated to draft v3
The English whitepaper is now draft v3. The abstract and the conclusion name the project explicitly, so that academic search engines can find the paper under the name Personix rather than only under its title.
The proposal itself is unchanged. Earlier versions remain available and the timestamped first release is untouched.
Service outages
10 August 2026, 11:26–17:57 CEST: the site was unavailable following a power failure at the server location.
12 August 2026, 06:27–06:30 and 06:45–07:07 CEST: two further outages, both deliberate, while testing recovery from power loss.
We are working to improve the resilience of the setup.
No cookies, literally
This site promises it uses no cookies. That was not true. From 29 June the site stored a technical marker in the browser so the visit counter could tell a repeat visit apart; from 5 July a second one remembered the chosen language.
Neither held any personal data, neither ever left our server, and we shared them with no one. That is beside the point. The promise did not say "almost no cookies".
We removed both. The language is read from your browser's own setting, and if you pick one it rides in the page address, so nothing stays behind. The visit statistics are coarser as a result — they count page loads instead of visitors. That is a price we are glad to pay.
We are sorry. A privacy promise should hold literally, not approximately.

The landing page now carries a short audio teaser in all 48 languages, and a longer spoken introduction to the problem in eleven.

The pamphlet is available to download as PDF and EPUB in every language of the site, translated images included. The Arabic and Hebrew editions are typeset right to left.
